Amid Mid East discord, some good news: a maternity hospital just steps from Jesus’s birthplace

On Dec 23rd I went on Fox News to talk about the documentary I am filming on pilgrimage sites in the Middle East. I’ve been going to Israel on and off for over ten years, and in my experience there is a lot more kindness and cooperation there among the different religions than we in America are lead to think.

One example is the Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem. Yes, that Bethlehem. It’s a maternity hospital that offers care nearly for free to the disadvantaged population in Bethlehem and the nearby Judaean desert. Even thought it’s funded by the Catholic Knights of Malta and an order of nuns called the Sisters of Charity the majority of patients, about 70%, are Muslim.
