The International Labour Office (ILO) and the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO) have co-published the report “Making Globalization Socially Sustainable.” The volume consists of contributions by leading academic experts who analyze the various channels through which globalization affects jobs and wages.

The publication underlines globalization’s potential to stimulate productivity and growth but highlights the importance of pursuing trade, employment and social policies together to harness this potential.

The book is organized around three main themes: employment, uncertainty in the job market and inequality. Together, the nine chapters in this volume summarize state-of-the art knowledge on themes related to the social dimension of globalization.
