Accenture is committed to helping forward-thinking organizations position sustainability as a key lever to long-term success and, ultimately, high performance. We help organizations leverage their assets and capabilities to drive innovation and profitable growth while striving for a positive economic, environmental and social impact.
Accenture helps nonprofit organizations, which today face unprecedented challenges—global economic conditions mean a steady decline in government support as demands for their services increase. Accenture understands that nonprofits ultimately want to target donors more effectively and keep back-office expenses down using IT to drive transformation and realize lasting programmatic efficiency—so they can spend more effort and resources toward achieving their mission.
The Global Play Foundation was established in 2005, as a result of a shared vision of four young professionals to be more actively involved in a philanthropic effort in the world that surrounds us. Since then, many collaborators who share the same dream of providing greater opportunities for boys and girls in developing nations by means of establishing programs associated with education and sports, have joined the organization in this effort.
In the past few years, the foundation has worked hard to provide an effective and solid structure that allows it to face the development of projects with maximum guarantee of success. There have been several trips to Mali and other countries in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa, which has allowed Global Play to learn more of the present situation and identify the most urgent needs.
Why the countries in Sub-Saharan Africa? The living conditions in the majority of the African countries, and particularly in this region (which are among the poorest in the world), makes emigration as the only way out for many of its inhabitants who are often forced to abandon their homes and their families in search of a better future.
