IDEA PHASE:  “Out of Your Head and Into the World: Bringing your social business idea to fruition”

Six students or professionals, chosen by short application, will meet in a closed session with two experts on social entrepreneurship and strategy that will act as mentors. Participants will discuss the viability of other’s ideas and explore the key elements required to turn an idea into an operating business. Being a closed event preserves the privacy of each entrepreneur’s ideas and the ratio of one mentor for each three entrepreneurs ensures that each social entrepreneur will have the time and necessary feedback to leave the session with a much clearer picture of his future social business.In addition, participants will have a networking opportunity with the participants and moderators of the other panels.

FINANCING PHASE: “Financing Your Social Business: Connecting with Investors and Exploring New Options”

The session will highlight interaction among entrepreneurs, social investors and students.  In this session, entrepreneurs will pitch their business plan to investors and receive a feedback from them while audience will have an opportunity to question and comment about the entrepreneurs’ business plan.  The session will provide entrepreneurs and audience with an opportunity to hear elements investors look for and to connect with them.  In addition, students will have an opportunity to develop their skill to address business problems in sustainable social business through helping entrepreneurs with preparation of their pitch.

GROWTH PHASE: “Managing social businesses: tackle business challenges to achieve social impact”

Led by IESE students with the support of UnLtd, McKinsey & Co. and Endeavor, will discuss challenges of selected social entrepreneurs and the proposed solution in the form of a Case Competition.The entrepreneur will have the opportunity to share a real business problem he is facing with a team of MBA students from IESE, ready to apply their knowledge and channel their passion to find the best solution for the entrepreneur they are working with.The final session will be in front of an ample audience and will provide exposure to the whole DGDW community, UnLtd, McKinsey & Co. and Endeavor. It will provide visibility to important companies in the industry and internationals MBA Students interested in the topic.
