Face IT is a group edited blog maintained by professors of IESE’s Department of Information Systems. Our department seeks to help managers develop an understanding of how information systems can be used to meet the firm’s objectives. In this blog, we explore and discuss how new information and communication technologies are altering the business world, and how businesses are developing business strategies related to these technologies.

Professor Sandra Sieber, Head of the Department of Information Systems, Associate Professor
Sandra Sieber has specialized on the impact of new technologies on organizational workpractices and business models. She closely follows recent developments in the Web 2.0 sphere. She watches companies like Facebook, Google, Apple or Microsoft, as well as many smaller companies that are shaping the future of the industry. Besides the IT industry she has has developed expertise in the media and entertainment, banking and telecommunications industries.
Dr. Javier Zamora, Lecturer of the Department of Information Systems
Javier Zamora is Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and M.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He also holds a PDG from IESE. Javier is co-founder of InQBarna, a company specialized in the development of multimedia networking applications for smartphones. During eight years, he was the General Manager of eNeo Labs, company devoted to products and services for the Digital Home. His previous professional experience includes four years as Director of Product Development at Xbind in New York and five years at the Center for Telecommunications Research and the Image and Advanced Television Laboratory of Columbia University. His areas of interest are new businesses based on IT/IS, digital media innovation, enterprise 2.0, cloud computing and technology product usability.
Josep Valor, Professor of Information Systems
Josep Valor is the Associate Dean for Executive Education at IESE Business School. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from MIT, and a Sc.D. in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics by the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Josep teaches extensively at the senior executive level on Management Information Systems, Media Management, Management of Technology, and Strategy. He actively follows the trends and writes about the IT hyper-sector, particularly the media and telecommunications industries.
