Every month can be Movember if you want it to be!

Once you grow a great manly mustache, how hard is it to let it go? As we mentioned yesterday, many of our MBA students have discovered another side of themselves thanks to the Movember initiative. Nice, clean cut mustaches or bushy beards… They all need a proper grooming!

This month is the perfect excuse to discover the best barber shops Barcelona has to offer. The list itself is an allegory of the city: from the oldest to the most modern, they all are unique and worth visiting.

  1. La Barberia de Gràcia (c/ Torrent de l’Olla, 198)

You can’t go wrong if you trust your beard to the winner of The Best Barber Shop 2014 award. Jordi Pérez has made his father proud by transforming a project that began in 1964 into the landmark it is today. If you are old school, remember they are one of the last shops in the city where you can get shaved with a straight razor.

  1. Vicenç Moretó Barber Shop (c/ Joaquim Costa, 51)

Vicenç is another award-winning barber whose shop can be found in one of the most eclectic streets of the city, right in the heart of Raval district. This parlor has been running since 1959 and offers exceptional haircuts as well. Over 50 years in the market have made Vicenç enough of an expert to co-found Barberiasconencanto.com, a platform meant to help barbershops all over Spain connect and improve together.

  1. Mustache Barber Shop (c/Mallorca 279)

Mustache is closer to a facial spa than to a simple salon. Shaving and trimming are not the only services they provide. Massages with oils and warm towels are also one of the reasons you can find many celebrities among their long list of clients.

  1. One O Nine (c/Mare de Déu del Pilar, 15)

109 offers many experiences in one single space. You don’t have to choose between taking care of your beard or mustache or going out for a drink, this shop offers both at once. Not many places in the world can compare!

  1. BCN Cuts Barber Shop (c/ Gran de Gràcia, 223)

Rodrigo and Daniela met in Boston but decided to bring their business with them to Barcelona. At BCN Cuts you forget you are in the middle of Gràcia while your beard gets taken care of very well. There’s even jazz playing in the background all day long so you don’t forget their American roots.
