Welcome, IESE Full-Time MBA Class of 2017!

During the month of August, many of the incoming Class of 2017 has arrived to Barcelona. Some arrived early to enjoy the end of the amazing and fun Barcelona summer on the beach and others came just to start or continue the journey of learning another language as they participate in an intensive Business Spanish program before the regular school year kicks off in September.

Next week, all 294 IESE MBA Class of 2017 students, 80% international from 50 different nationalities, will arrive on campus to meet their future lifetime friends/networks and the Professors that will make a lasting impact on their way of thinking and thus future careers. Some of the nationalities most represented this year are the USA, Brazil, Japan and the UK.  Out of these 294 people, 28% of the IESE MBA students this year are stellar women from across the world !

Welcome IESE MBA 2017

A quick look into this diverse group reveals a wonderful spectrum of career backgrounds, such as civil engineers, lawyers, medical doctors, and soldiers, as well as people coming from business backgrounds across industries such as banking, consulting, technology, media and the arts. Everyone that enters IESE is unique because each one has his own story .

IESE MBAs are not just looking for a basic career change, but are seeking a life dream and a personal transformation in their MBA experience. For example, Eddy will move to Barcelona all the way from Xenia, Ohio, USA, with his family supporting him in order to pursue his goals of taking his career in education internationally.

Marcela left her role as financial planning manager at Pfizer Mexico in Mexico City almost one year ago now to pursue a start up in partnership with her brother focused on providing valuations to multinationals – a business that has flourished and she now is pursuing her MBA at IESE in order to expand that business from Mexico internationally.

We want to give Eddy and Marcela along with the other 292 incoming students a very warm welcome to the IESE Family and encourage them to study hard, network smartly, enjoy their time in Barcelona and last but not least forge relationships that will last a lifetime.
