In this year’s edition of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) annual ranking of “e-readiness” Denmark topped the table of 70 countries with a score of 8.87, while last year’s leader, the US, dropped to fifth, below Sweden (8.67), the Netherlands (8.64) and Norway (8.62).

The ranking measures the environment for e-business in each country, as well as a number of factors that indicate how ready a market is to exploit opportunities arising from the Internet. The survey also assesses how individuals and businesses in each country consume digital goods and services.
