Ernst & Young has just published a new study titled “Opportunities in Adversity: Accelerating the Change,” based on interviews of 570 executives at 570 leading global companies. The report shows the depth of the impact of the worldwide recession on corporates. The majority of companies worldwide are still focused on survival although there is a minority who are looking to take advantage of the situation to pursue new opportunities. 43 percent of those surveyed said that their operating model had been altered by the events of the last 18 months. Moreover, more than half of the executives surveyed said that their risk management process had been permanently altered.
