The World Bank has just launched “Africa Development Indicators 2010”. The report includes an annual essay drawing on ADI indicators titled “Silent and Lethal: How Quiet Corruption Undermines Africa’s Development Efforts”. This year, the focus is on “quiet corruption” which is pervasive and widespread across Africa and is having a disproportionate effect on the poor, with long-term consequences for development.
An online indicators database is also available, containing the most detailed collection of data on Africa: over 1,600 indicators, covering 53 African countries and spanning the period 1961 to 2008.
