Top Ten Most Cited Spanish Social Scientists

IESE Professor Xavier Vives is among the “Top Ten Most Cited Spanish Social Scientists”, according to a survey conducted by the Institute for Scientific Information. The top-ranked Spanish social scientist is sociologist Manuel Castells. Sociologist and political scientist Juan J. Linz occupies second place in the ranking and economist Andreu Mas-Colell, third.

The ranking of the top ten scholars was calculated using information on citations to the articles, books, and working papers published by social scientists. This is reflected in the Institute for Scientific Information’s Social Science, Science, and Humanities Citation Indexes, which track academic publishing in scientific journals around the world.
