The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (EUROFOUND) has just launched the report, “Part-time Work in the European Union”. The study reveals that part-time employment has been increasing in Europe for the past two decades.
The study is an attempt to bring together the results of two European-wide surveys to provide a snapshot of part-time work presenting both the company and the employee point of view. Among its main findings are that part-time work has both positive and negative consequences that are substantially different for employers, employees and the economy as a whole.
