German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz is the most reputed company among Spaniards, according to the study RepTrak Pulse Spain 2012, published by the Reputation Institute. Google, Danone, Nestlé and Mercadona (in ascending order) round out the top 5.
The companies that have most significantly improved their standing in Spain are BP, Caser Seguros and Sacyr Vallehermoso. By contrast, Spanair, Iberia and Vodafone were the biggest fallers in this year’s ranking. In fact, Spanair registered the largest fall and lowest points haul in the index’s history, due primarily to the company’s bankruptcy in early 2012.
At the international level, the most valued brands include BMW, Sony, The Walt Disney Company, Daimler, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Wolkswagen, Canon and Lego. The highest valued sectors are food and beverage, IT, distribution and electronics.
