The study measures the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it in 189 economies. Ten areas of the life of a business are included in this year’s ranking on the ease of doing business: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency.
For the first time this year, Doing Business collected data for 2 cities in 11 economies with more than 100 million inhabitants. The economies are: Bangladesh, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Russian Federation, and the United States.
According to the study, Singapore heads the Doing Business 2015 ranking . The next two positions are occupied by New Zealand and Hong Kong. Spain places 33rd worldwide.
