Google Heads World’s Most Innovative Companies

(CC) Findyoursearch/FlickrGoogle has topped Fast Company‘s annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies in 2014 Bloomberg Philanthropies and Xiaomi occupy second and third position, respectively.

The annual list ranks the 50 most innovative companies of 2014 – companies that stand out for introducing new solutions for consumers as well as developing cutting edge and profitable business models. They include firms that manufacture plastic from sugar cane, Chinese clothing brands and laboratories that conduct research into androgen blockers in order to combat cancer.

The ranking, which is based on exhaustively analyzed data, differs markedly from most of its counterparts by emphasizing not just revenue, growth and profit margins, but also innovative and sustainable business models.
