Most Powerful Women in Business

(CC) Fortune Live Media/FlickrFortune has produced this year’s list of the most powerful women in business. Earning the top spot is GM CEO Mary Barra. Barra is followed by PepsiCO CEO Indra Nooyi and IBM CEO Ginni Rometty.

The magazine compiles the list by ranking leaders by criteria that include the size and importance of the woman’s business in the global economy, the business’s health, the path of the woman’s career and influence on society and culture. Creativity is still a requirement for success, of course, but you no longer have to work in a “creative” industry to advance as a woman. There are 12 newcomers and 27 CEOs on this year’s version.
