People in the EU – 2015 edition

(CC) Hammersmith & Fulham Council / FlickrEurostat has just published the report “People in the EU: who are we and how do we live.” According to the study demographic change, together with migration, globalization and climate change, is recognized as one of the most significant challenges that the European Union is currently facing.

In recent decades, the profile of the EU population has changed, due in part to ageing society, changes in patterns of family formation and structure and shifts in the roles of men and women.

The publication draws on the results of the population and housing census that was conducted across all households in the EU Member states and EFTA countries in 2011, as well as a range of social statistics from Eurostat databases.
