Climbing two places from last year’s cities ranking, London is now the top student city in the world according to this year’s QS Best Student Cities ranking, followed by Tokyo and Melbourne in second and third position respectively. Barcelona in 31st position and Madrid 32nd, are the only two Spanish cities to make the top 50 list.
Home to several leading universities, including UCL (University College London), Imperial College London, and King’s College London, the city has been a student favorite for years and performed particularly well in our student survey.
Published annually, the QS Best Student Cities index showcases the best urban destinations for international students, based on a diverse range of indicators grouped into six key categories: University Rankings, Student Mix, Desirability, Employer Activity, Affordability and Student View.
Of the other indicators, Toronto deserves attention for being the most desirable student city, while Budapest is ranked top for affordability.
