Now in its 21st year, this list captures women’s progress moving into senior leadership roles. The winning organizations have high female representation in key management positions, and programs and policies that help women reach the top.
The NAFE Top 10 Companies for 2019 are Eli Lilly and Company, Ernst & Young LLP, FleishmanHillard, IBM, JLL, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal USA, Marriott International, Procter & Gamble, and Unilever USA. This is the first year Eli Lilly and Company, Johnson & Johnson, and Unilever have made the coveted Top 10. IBM and Aetna are the only companies on the list for its entire 21-year history.
Female representation among CEOs at the NAFE Top 70 companies increased 5 percentage points to 19 percent this year, outpacing the S&P 500 at 5 percent.
The percentage of women on the boards of directors at the NAFE Top 70 companies increased two points to 32 percent, up from 30 percent in 2018. S&P 500 held steady year over year at 21 percent.
Female executives responsible for divisions worth more than $1 billion increased from 21 percent to 26 percent in the past year.
