font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><b>Unites States<\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/rareearthinvestingnews.com\/13580-rare-earths-in-the-united-states.html\">Rare Earth Investing news<\/a><\/em>, a specialist website reports that while Molycorp\u2019s Mountain Pass California is the only producing rare earth mine in the United States today, a number of publicly traded companies are developing sites all across the western united States including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Elk Creek Carbonatite<\/strong>, Nebraska<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bokan-Dotson Ridge<\/strong>, Alaska<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diamond Creek<\/strong>, Idaho<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bear Lodge<\/strong>, Wyoming<\/li>\n<li><strong>Round Top<\/strong>, Texas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>India<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/doing-business\/files\/2013\/11\/irel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-648\" alt=\"irel\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/doing-business\/files\/2013\/11\/irel-150x150.jpg\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a>As mentioned last week, India is working on an agreement with Japan on rare earths and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.irel.gov.in\/scripts\/unit.asp\">India Rare Earths<\/a><\/strong> was founded by its government in 1950 and operates four sites and a research center in Kerala. last summer, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/news\/articles\/SB10000872396390443437504577546772533972202\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a><\/em> expressed skepticism about India\u2019s plans and made the point that it is still far below Chinese production of Rare Earths.<\/p>\n<p><b>Greenland<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In Southern Greenland, an Australian company, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ggg.gl\/investor-information\/in-the-news\/kvanefjeld-becomes-government-priority\/\">Greenland Minerals and Energy Ltd.<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is planning a combined rare earth and uranium mine at Kvanefjelds and last week, Greenland\u2019s parliament voted 15-14 to allow uranium mining in Greenland so the project can go forward. Greenland Mineral\u2019s plan is to reduce the cost of extracting and separating out the rare earths at Kvanefjelds by selling the uranium at the site and thus reach costs which are competitive with China even though they plan on the strictest environmental controls.<\/p>\n<p>What is striking about the situation is that the question of uranium mining was not only central to Greenland\u2019s recent election of its first female prime Minister, Aleqa Hammond\u00a0but the development of Greenland\u2019s mineral wealth is central to its future economic development and potential political independence from Denmark. The <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.alaskadispatch.com\/article\/20131030\/analysis-implications-greenland-s-decision-allow-uranium-mining\">Alaska Dispatch<\/a><\/em> reports on the vote and published an interesting article by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alaskadispatch.com\/article\/20131028\/greenland-parliament-right-repeal-ban-uranium-mining-independence-nears\">M.
