{"id":1612,"date":"2016-06-30T10:56:05","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T09:56:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mba\/?p=1612"},"modified":"2016-07-25T22:03:56","modified_gmt":"2016-07-25T21:03:56","slug":"iese-students-speed-date-with-start-ups","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mba\/iese-students-speed-date-with-start-ups\/","title":{"rendered":"IESE Students Speed Date with Start-Ups"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the fourth year, IESE Business School Career Services alongside <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"http:\/\/www.barcelonactiva.cat\/barcelonactiva\/en\/all-about-barcelona-activa\/who-we-are\/\">Barcelona Activa<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>gathered together local start-up companies with IESE MBA Students to create internship opportunities that will help start-ups boost their potential while giving students a valuable work experience. The event consists of a series of short pitches from companies (company introduction plus a description of the specific project, which is planned for the internship opportunity) and one-to-one short interviews with the students. The start-ups span across industries including,\u00a0E-commerce, Marketing, High tech, Bio Tech, Apps, Social media, and Engineering to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>This Speed dating start up event was founded in IESE in 2012 by alumni\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><em style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000\" href=\"https:\/\/ch.linkedin.com\/in\/kempermanjjr\">Jeroen Kemperman<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span>(MBA 2013) as the interest of students to work for start-ups was really growing in the IESE community. \u00a0&#8220;<\/span><\/span>It has taken place every year since with 40 \u2013 60 students participating in the event and with approximately 15 start-ups making their pitch to students. \u00a0In the past, we have seen up to 7 internship offers extended post this event&#8221; said Vicki Lambiri, Head of Technology Recruitment in IESE\u00b4s Career Services.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about how Barcelona Activa works with local entrepreuners in Barcelona and in IESE, watch the short video below.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<iframe class='xavier' width='100%' height='400' frameborder='0' allow='fullscreen' allowfullscreen src='https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LHef8wWbD58'><\/iframe>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the fourth year, IESE Business School Career Services alongside Barcelona Activa\u00a0gathered together local start-up companies with IESE MBA Students to create internship opportunities that will help start-ups boost their potential while giving students a valuable work experience.
