But in her courses at IESE, she met fellow students who had been working for 20 years. \u201cWhatever the position you\u2019re in or job you\u2019re in, you always want to learn more and develop yourself further.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>IESE Business School, the graduate business school of the University of Navarra in Madrid, has campuses in several countries and more than 57,700 alumni spread all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>Alumni played a vital role in helping Khevenh\u00fcller select IESE Business School for her postgraduate studies. \u201cI initially liked the IESE programme because of its course structure,\u201d she remembers, but discussions with former students crystallised her decision when they told her about the congenial environment, both during and after studies. \u201cWhen you apply to a university, you look at the credentials, the rankings and course structure. But in the end, you want to know what the university experience will be like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The structure of IESE\u2019s master\u2019s in management was also a strong draw, she says. The master\u2019s is predominantly case based, meaning it\u2019s very practical. \u201cWhen it was a financial or behavioural course, the learning was always immediately applied,\u201d she says. \u201cWhatever you learned, it was always from a human or problem perspective. I\u2019ve been working for more than three years and it really gives you a good insight into what it will be like in the real world because they are all real-life cases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-936 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/mim\/files\/2024\/03\/20240308-HPLE_404-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The IESE Business School actively fosters a community atmosphere, for current and former students. \u201cAs soon as you step into the world of IESE, you are part of that world continuously,\u201d Khevenh\u00fcller says. The institution regularly holds seminars, talks and programmes, which are also open to alumni. \u201cYou really get encouraged to further your knowledge, and not just in the topic or field that you\u2019re working in,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, the world is so complex and there are big issues that can feel overwhelming. How do you map out a career path when you don\u2019t know what the world will look like?\u201d she asks. The\u00a0business school regularly reaches out to students and alumni, offering talks to help them navigate their careers.<\/p>\n<p>Alumni also foster supportive networks: \u201cFor example, if someone has a problem or says, \u2018I\u2019m interested in this industry\u2019, someone will say, \u2018But we have alumni who work in that industry\u2019,\u201d Khevenh\u00fcller says. \u201cEveryone is always excited to speak to fellow alumni and to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The institution recently introduced a dual master\u2019s degree in management and business administration. Khevenh\u00fcller is excited at the prospect. \u201cIt\u2019s something I\u2019d like to do. It\u2019s such a good opportunity because you can build one on top of the other and you don\u2019t have to do them separately,\u201d she says. \u201cBefore, I thought I would have to decide between one or the other.
