She investigated the important decisions that large firms face when deciding which new technologies to invest in to respond to the technological challenges shaking the industry. She collected a detailed dataset on the corporate venture capital investments and the technology licensing deals of firms in the chemical and the pharmaceutical industry. The dissertation provides insights into how firms can make these investment decisions under high levels of uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The IESE Library has played an important role in her dissertation thanks to the access it has granted her to on-site <strong>financial databases<\/strong> as well as the <strong>training and technical support<\/strong> it gave her on using those databases. In addition, the IESE Library provided her access to an <strong>extensive collection of articles and books<\/strong>.
