I lecture in IESE\u2019s MBA and Executive Education programs where I teach strategy, geopolitics, and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>My first book is an exploration of the link between business and the environment titled<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/rosenberg\/books\/\">\u00a0<\/a><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/rosenberg\/books\/\">Strategy and Sustainability<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(Palgrave Macmillan, 2015). It looks at the issue more from the perspective of business executives rather than that of environmentalists. The second book is titled <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/rosenberg\/books\/\"><em><strong>Strategy and Geopolitics<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (Emerald, 2018).\u00a0 I wrote this book to encourage business leaders to pay more attention to geopolitical issues when crafting strategy. Both books offer my own framework for looking at these two issues.<\/p>\n<p>For a number of years, I was the Academic Director of IESE&#8217;s Advanced Management Program in Media Entertainment which was run at IESE&#8217;s building in New York City and at the University of California&#8217;s Anderson School of Business in Los Angeles. My colleagues on the program faculty and I put together another book, <strong><i><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.iese.edu\/rosenberg\/books\/\">Managing Media Businesses<\/a>\u00a0<\/i><\/strong>(Palgrave Macmillan, 2018). The book discusses the changes that have happened\u00a0 in that space and I had the privilege to be one of the co-editors of that book.<\/p>\n<p>My latest book is about managing careers in these very difficult and turbulent times. The book is titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Learning-Fly-Manage-Turbulent-Changing\/dp\/1839985100\/ref=sr_1_2?crid=27U1G6U6DSQDG&amp;keywords=learning+to+fly+rosenberg&amp;qid=1659513873&amp;sprefix=learning+to+fly+rosenberg%2Caps%2C159&amp;sr=8-2\"><em>Learning to Fly<\/em><\/a> and was published in September 2022 by Anthem Press.<\/p>\n<p>From 2004-2009 I also managed IESE\u2019s International Executive Education Unit and am currently the Academic Director several <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iese.edu\/en\/executive-education\/custom-programs\/\">Custom Programs<\/a> for corporate clients of the school.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to my work for the school, I am on the board of the Helsinki Geoeconomics Society, Franchise World Link and routinely work with companies on issues connected with the themes I discuss in class,<\/p>\n<p>Before joining the faculty at IESE Business School, I was the Automotive Practice Leader of Heidrick &amp; Struggles, the international search firm.\u00a0 Before that, I\u00a0 spent 15 years as a Management consultant in Europe, North America, and Asia for A.T. Kearney and for Arthur D. Little primarily in the automotive sector. I began my career as an engineer for Sonat Offshore Drilling involved in the design and construction of offshore drilling platforms in the U.S., Norway, and Japan.<\/p>\n<p>I received my Ph.D. from Cranfield University, an MBA from IESE Business School, and a Bachelor of Science (Naval Architecture) from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a Professor of the Practice of Management in the Strategy Department of IESE Business School.
