Most Prosperous Regions in the EU

(CC) PlanetObserver / FlickrThe EC has just published the statistics regarding Regional GDP, expressed in terms of purchasing power standards.

According to the figures, in 2011 the five most prosperous regions in the EU were Inner London (321%), Luxembourg (266%), Bruxelles-Cap (222%), Hamburg (202%) and Brstislavsky ktaj (186%).

The statistics show that there are 41 regions with GDP per capita above 125% of the EU average, 11 in Germany, 5 in the Netherlans and Austria, 3 in Belgium, Italy and the United Kingdom, 2 in Spain and Finland and 1 in the Czech republic, Denmark, Ireland, France, Slovakia, Sweden and Luxembourg.

On the other hand, the five lowest regions are located in Bulgaria and Romania.
