Finding Funders

Return to the #105 Newsletter

Interested in VC funding and want to know which firms invest in your sector, at your financing stage, and in your geographical location? The Library offers several sources that offer this kind of information:

Capital IQ: Go to Capital IQ. On the menu, click on “Markets” and then “Deal Screener.” Under “Targeting,” click on “Find Buyers and Investors” and make your selections to find VCs interested in your space, location, and stage.

PitchBook: Go to PitchBook and choose access by SSO. Use the Screeners and Companies & Deals sections to identify a list of companies by filtering by location, industry, and financing stage (Deal Type) to find funders. Note that this database has tight export limits. Accounts under the IESE subscription allow for 10 daily and 25 monthly rows of data downloads. Faculty and researchers can use an additional account that includes a download allowance upgrade to 2,000 entities per month per user.

LSEG Workspace: Recommended for those who need to download larger datasets. Go to LSEG Workspace. On the menu, select “Markets” and then “Deals Screener.” In the “Universe” field, select “Private Equity/VC” and filter by any criteria you are interested in.
Access LSGE Workspace using the PCs available at Barcelona (Financial Room) or Madrid Libraries. Ask staff for password. Professors and researchers: For desktop application or web access please email  library@iese.edu
