Evaluating Research Activity

IESE’s Corporate Information Unit is in charge of compiling information required by Comisión Nacional de la Actividad Investigadora (CNEAI) to recognize the merits in the research activity developed by IESE faculty and researchers. These research merits are evaluated by section, each of which must cover six years of Research (Sexenios). Information on the research activity of some IESE professors was submitted for consideration in 2017.

The evaluation of scientific activity is regulated by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, which sets the quality criteria that serve as the basis for the evaluation. In the different areas of scientific, technical and social knowledge there are international indices that provide ratings for publications of recognized prestige based on the size of their readership. The CNEAI assumes that reaching prominent positions on these indices is an indication that the content published in a certain journal is of high quality.

The Library has given support to the IESE’s Corporate Information Unit by identifying certain quality indicators for publications:

  • Journal Impact Factor
  • Journal Citation Report
  • Quality Index for Book Publishers

As always, it’s pleasing to note the quality of research developed at IESE. Congratulations to all involved!
