Professor Beatriz Muñoz-Seca has been involved in the study of Healthcare for many years in its position as one of today’s most innovative industries, yet one that presents increasingly complex business challenges.
There has never been a more pressing need for a fresh approach to healthcare management education leading Prof. Muñoz-Seca to be part of IESE’s Programa de Alta Direccion en Instituciones Sanitarias for eleven years, and serving as its Academic Director since 2008.
She is also the Academic Director of IESE’s new Healthcare Management Program, an initiative that will take place from April to June of 2012 on both the Madrid and Barcelona campuses.
“We have designed this program to provide a ‘hands on’ approach to healthcare management. Through specific research, the IESE faculty has been working to deliver a new point of view of the European healthcare reality. Starting from a broad perspective from different national health systems and healthcare organizations throughout Europe, we will analyze the latest concepts and ideas that create value in the healthcare sector.
The program will focus on creating a forum for discussion to enable healthcare managers to reassess their views on the current environment in which they operate. It will help participants identify and analyze the roles that senior executives must play today in order to lead their companies more efficiently, creating an operational culture that will enhance cooperation, learning, and competitiveness.”
Currently, Prof. Muñoz-Seca is conducting research into innovation in Service Design and Operations in Hospitals, as well as investigating other critical developments in worldwide healthcare.
