Dear Incoming Class of 2025…

We are getting ready to welcome the MBA Class of 2025 on campus! As part of our annual tradition, Pamela Mello and Rohan Mehta, Co-Presidents of MBA 2023 share some tips to help them prepare for the start of their transformational journey!

Welcome to the opportunity of a lifetime, which will challenge you, shape you, and ultimately lead you into becoming the leaders of tomorrow. You are about to embark on an incredible two years, that will provide you with the tools for the real world, and where you will develop relationships that will last a lifetime.

Your journey at IESE will be a combination of joy, challenges, stress, exhilaration, learning, and immense growth. There will be moments of doubt, but in these moments, remember why you are here, and remember the courage it took for you to embark on this journey. The experiences you gain and the knowledge you acquire will shape you into the person you are destined to be.

Here are some tips to get you started.

You get out what you put in

At IESE, there will be no shortage of opportunities to put yourself out there and you will get the most out of your experience by taking chances. It’s important to put in your best efforts, get involved with clubs and events, and push yourself to try things that scare you. This is a rare chance to take a risk in a relatively risk-free environment and the more you do, the more you’ll grow.

Prioritize your experience

At IESE, there will always be tons of activities, networking opportunities, events, parties, and projects to work on, but not enough time to do it all. Before you start school, think of your goals and keep them in mind as you make decisions.

Be open

At IESE, you will be exposed to diverse cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and ideas. This diversity will be an invaluable learning experience, allowing you to understand the world from a multitude of angles. Take advantage of this opportunity to broaden your perspective, to question the status quo, and to challenge your own beliefs.

Stay community-oriented

Remember that your class, the Class of 2025, is not just a group of individuals studying together. You are a community, and in this community, collaboration and teamwork are integral. During these two years, you will work together, learn from each other, and help each other grow. The friendships you form here will be some of the most influential ones in your life.

Take care of yourself

The MBA can be taxing with its 3 cases a day, assignments, exams, networking, and job hunting. Do not forget to take care of your mental health whether that means attending a party to have fun, taking the weekend to sleep, or doing something that recharges you.

The MBA is a marathon, not a sprint and it’s important to check in with yourself often.

Enjoy the journey

Finally, let us remind you of the purpose that brought you here. Each of you has a unique dream, a unique vision for your future. This journey is about turning those dreams into reality. Never lose sight of your goals. Allow them to guide you in your decisions and to inspire you in times of difficulty.

Your journey at IESE will be one of transformation. From the moment you set foot on our campus until the day you walk across the stage at graduation, you will evolve into more than just a graduate. You will emerge as a leader, ready to make a lasting impact on the world. These two years will go by very fast so remember to take in the moments and make the most of your time, for they will shape your future in unimaginable ways.

We are thrilled to welcome you to IESE and can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of you.

Welcome to the journey of a lifetime. Welcome, Class of 2025!

With warm regards,

Rohan Mehta and Pamela Mello, Co-Presidents of MBA Class of 2023
