“Europe is a center of innovation for social networks, for mobile and gaming,” says Facebook’s Christian Hernandez. “Good stuff is coming out of Berlin and Turkey and Finland. And innovation and entrepreneurship is what drives growth, so there’s hope for Europe.” He adds that, while many people see HTML5 as the future of the Internet, behind it there are some missing pieces of technology. However, Facebook’s apps are using HTML5 and the company is investing in its development.

Christian Hernandez is correct in his analysis in social media being the driving force towards innovation and entrepreneurship in this ever changing world. Who would have ever dreamed of the impact Facebook would have just a few short years ago when most of us were still trying to learn how to use a calculator? (That dates me now)
Given the social and communication impact that Internet technology has played in shaping societies, social media certainly has been the biggest change the world has experienced in as short a time in all of history.
Not only in how we communicate using social media, but in all aspects of society including business, online marketing, community and social networking groups, but the world really has become a smaller planet with communication via the Internet being available literally any where on the planet.
Christian Hernandez has given good information. Facebook is the wave of the future.
