IESE will serve as a strategic partner in the upcoming Corporate Innovation Summit 2021, a global meeting of innovation-minded corporates, startups and investors, to be held in Hong Kong and online.
The summit, organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corp (HKSTP), will take place on May 26. It is an event for corporate leaders that will feature speakers on global macroeconomic, sustainability and corporate innovation trends. The event will include thought leadership sessions and executive roundtables, as well as showcase successful innovation cases.
As part of the summit, a new regional study on corporate venturing will be released, titled Open Innovation: How Corporate Giants Can Better Collaborate with Deep-Tech Start-ups. The Case of East and Southeast Asia. Authored by IESE (Josemaria Siota and Prof. Mª Julia Prats) and with contributions from HKSTP, the report shows that corporate venturing in Asia is growing at speed – and is expected to keep expanding in the next five years.
The study also looks at the major challenges facing East and Southeast Asian corporations when they’re innovating with deep-tech startups, in terms of innovation governance, cultural hierarchy and risk perception.
